Kalpesh Patel - Managing Director, Solex Energy, set up the first manufacturing facility of solar lighting systems in 2000 at Vithal Udyognagar, Anand, Gujarat and in 2007 commenced solar panel manufacturing. Having commenced Sun Energy Systems as a proprietorship firm under his leadership, Kalpesh Patel nurtured it into ‘Solex Energy Private Limited’ under the provisions of the Companies Act in 2014, and later on, the company went public, getting listed on NSE Emerge platform, transitioning to ‘Solex Energy Limited’ in the year 2018. Solex Energy attracted a good number of investors, consequently raising the issue submission by 19%.
Recently in January, 2020, the company got on its board as executive director, Chetan Shah, a veteran of the solar industry and founder and former director of Goldi Solar. Having the reputation of building Gold Solar into a globally recognized solar company, Chetan Shah brings with him a rich experience in solar panel manufacturing & EPC.
Under his able guidance, Solex Energy has announced the expansion of its solar panel manufacturing facility. The company shortly plans commencement of its 1GW manufacturing capacity in an ultra-modern, state-of-the-art facility in Surat, Gujarat.
With this facility, the company plans to implement the latest manufacturing technology and introduce high quality modules delivering enhanced performance and best generation, undergoing all stringent quality checks and having all the required certifications from reputed international entities. With the inclusion of automated processes like auto bussing, auto curing line and automatic module sorting, its assembly lines will also be fully equipped for Half-cut cell, Bi-facial, BIPV and glass to glass module manufacturing. The company will be introducing a range of modules using Mono and Multi - crystalline cells along with catering to client’s specific requirements.
The international sales team of Solex Energy will be catering to exports, specially focusing on European, American & Russian markets, as the manufacturing plant will be put up keeping in mind the quality & finishing as basic requirements of these markets.
The production lines will be equipped for specially ordered and custom-made modules designed for specific needs. A dedicated R&D team and a high-profile in-house quality lab will be setup to achieve this purpose. A customer friendly approach for order processing, pre-dispatch inspections and whole array of services will add value to Solex Energy’s products. Apart from Solex Energy’s own branding, the company will be doing OEM for a very limited but niche set of clients with long-term tie-ups. For new developments in the solar manufacturing sector, Solex Energy will be having technological know-how transfer arrangements with world leading institutions & academics.
As a part of the company’s vision and future prospects, backward integration towards solar cell manufacturing is also on the cards.
